Dustin J. Hopson

Dustin J. Hopson is the founder and lead attorney of Hopson Legal. Since elementary school, he has wanted to try cases to juries and work for people facing legal challenges in our Justice System. After graduating from Westmoore High School in Oklahoma City, he attended first the University of Oklahoma and then the Texas Tech University School of Law. There, he excelled in the classroom and on the Board of Barristers, competing successfully in Mock Trial, Moot Court, and Negotiation competitions, earning a consistent place among the schools’ top-rated competitors. He returned to Oklahoma City and began practice in 2022. Since that time, he has extensive experience before the courts of the State of Oklahoma, the State of Texas, and the Federal Courts in the United States Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, Colorado, where he recently completed arguments involving issues of the power of a sitting Governor and civil rights. He has successfully been lead counsel in many trials in State and Federal Court and remains honored to handle those legal matters of the clients who trust in him and his firm each day.

When he isn’t practicing law, he enjoys the company of his friends over a quality cigar, the occasional round of golf, a great book, and time with his 16-year-old black lab, Ari. He is a legal analyst for KFOR in Oklahoma City, where he continues to reside.
